Skytex Introduces Two Android 4.0 Tablets
Skytex just introduced a couple of Skypad series tablets that are running on Android 4.0. The Skypad Protos sports a 9.7 inch screen, while the Skypad Gemini comes with a 7 inch screen.
If not for the size, they share the same 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor backed by a 400 Mali GPU and 1GB of RAM. Other common features include 8 GB of onboard storage, a slot for microSD memory card, 5 GB of cloud storage, HDMI output and a miniUSB connection.
The larger tablet, the Protos Skypad, has an IPS has a touch screen, but its resolution is 1024 x 768. It also has a couple of cameras: a 5-megapixel in the back and a 2 megapixel on the front. There is also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on board, but no 3G. The power comes from a 6000 mAh battery that promises more than 10 hours of web browsing. There is also support for 1080p video playback and 3D output through the HDMI port.
The tablet will be available in early July at a price equivalent to about 221 euros.
The smaller tablet, the Skypad Gemini has a rubber coating on the body. The screen resolution is 800 × 480, and there is a 2-megapixel front camera. As for the battery, it has 3000 mAh on board to provide a maximum of 6 hours of use.
It will also be available during the month of July, at a price of 142 euros.
Skytex promises access to over 200,000 Android applications through the Mobile Market.
