Samsung Galaxy S II Gets Android Ice Cream 4.0 Upgrade in Europe
It is finally the time that many users were waiting for: Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy S II is about to receive the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich from today in some European markets, as well as in South Korea. According to our sources, those of you not in Europe and not running Ice Cream, the update to ICS for Galaxy S II will be gradually extended during the month in all other markets.
The other terminals such as Samsung Galaxy Note, Galaxy II S LTE, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 will receive the update, too, but there’s no exact date as Samsung ony promise that it will happen “soon”.
Samsung still has not forgotten the earlier devices like the Samsung i9000 S Galaxy, the Galaxy S SCL (Super Clear LCD), Galaxy S Plus, Tab P1000 Galaxy, and Galaxy W. Although these models do not receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, however, get the firmware updates to Gingerbread with capabilities similar to those offered by ICS (Unlock Face, Photo Editor, Snapshot and others). The update will be available from mid-March.
